Dr. Gress was born in Washington Indiana on April 26, 1943. He received an associate degree in engineering from Vincennes University, and BSCE, MSCE and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1963, 1966, 1968, and 1976 respectively.
He is a member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Concrete Institute (ACI), Materials Research Society (MRS), American Masonry Society (AMS), and the American Ceramic Society (ASC). He has been a reviewer for the DOE Waste Management Program, National Science Foundation, NY State Solid Waste Combustion Institute, and a member of several committees of the Transportation Research Board, Policy Committee of the University Transportation Center (MIT, Harvard and all New England State Universities), the Advisory Committee of the New England Transportation Consortium (all New England State Schools), the Highway Research Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Concrete and Structures Advisory Committee, C-204 Non-Destructive Testing for Concrete, and Optimization of Highway Concrete Technology of the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP). He is the official University Representative of the Transportation Research Board (TRB). |
